I'm assuming it was originally caused from stress and anxiety and chronic bruxism when I sleep. Always had ear discomfort, jaw soreness when stretching it, occasional pain when eating. I used a mouth guard for the bruxism, but the jaw pain and tingling/discomfort around the ears and the annoying clicking and popping never went away.
